In the 200 IM, it was another win for Milan as Sara Mitchell took 1st, and Presley was 3rd. We had many great swims in the 50 free, with Zoie Devine, Hazel Gibbs, Delany Didyk, Peyton Bergstrom, and Ginny Heikka all having season bests. In the scoring heats, we did not win the event but with the 2,3,4 we outscored all teams. Gillay took 2nd, McKenna was 3rd and Kimberly was 4th. Shylyn Gallinger dove in her first meet and did a fantastic job, and Kaylin Brown dominated the event to take the event for Milan. The 100 Free was won by Mckenna in a great swim, vandergrift was 3rd and Asthtyn bergstrom took 5th. The other 100 races, Heikka, Wilson and Brown all had season bests, and are improving at a rapid rate. The 500 was won by Gill in a State Cut time as she lapped all her competition. Pumfrey after swimming a great 100 fly, came back to claim 3rd in the 500 in the race of the night, coming back in the late stages of the race to catch an Allen Park athlete. The 200 Free Relay was taken by Wayne, Gillay, Hovatter and Gill, with the B relay of Astyn Bergstrom, Vandergrift, Heikka and Kimberly in 3rd. Our C relay has fantastic swims as well, and was composed of Wilson, Gibbs, Brown and Didyk. The 100 back was claimed by Presley, just barely touching out Mitchell, and Zoie Devine swam her first Varsity race (and 1st ever 100 backstroke) and swam great. The 100 Breast saw a state cut and win for Mary Kate Wayne, while Kimberly claimed 2nd. The meet ended with our C relay of Wilkerson, Wilson, Brown and Didyk having all great swims, while our B relay of Vandergrift, Ashtyn Bergstrom, Pumfrey and Presley were 3rd, and Milan took the win with the relay of Gill, Hovatter, Mitchell and Mckenna. It was a great start to our dual meet season, and we are off and going. We will keep looking to improve in areas and compete hard. We will open our home schedule with another Tri Meet this Thursday 8-28 with Ypsilanti Lincoln, and Ann Arbor Greenhills coming to town.
